That’s when he got the idea for the action movie “Ugramm,” which turned out to be a big hit in 2014.
In his next film “KGF” (Kolar Gold Fields), Yash played Rocky, an orphan who becomes a don. The sequel, “KGF: Chapter 2,” was supposed to come out on July 16, 2021, but it got delayed because of the COVID pandemic. It finally came to theaters on April 14, 2022, in Kannada, with versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. “KGF: Chapter 2” became the highest-grossing Kannada film, making a lot of money worldwide—around 1,200-1,250 crore. It’s now the third highest-grossing Indian film globally, the second highest-grossing film in India, and the top-earning Indian film of 2022. They’re already working on a sequel.
